Support Cat Adoption and Rescue. Why go to a cat breeder or pet store to buy a cat when you can adopt?

Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

We serve the state of Iowa and contiguous states.

About Our Shelter:

Witty Kitties is a private, state-licensed, non-profit organization that provides quality care and shelter to cats with specific chronic medical needs (primarily feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus) within the five-state area we serve. Our organization is committed to collaborating with local humane organizations in rescue work and low-cost spay-neuter services. In addition, we provide rescue, care and appropriate housing for a variety of reptiles.
As part of our overall service to the community, Witty Kitties works to educate the public regarding proper care of these
companion animals and, ideally, to find permanent, quality homes for them.

Come Meet our Pets:

Witty Kitties is located near Shueyville, IA on private property. Our address is 3133 Roberts Ferry Rd NE, Solon, IA 52333.

We are open to the public every Saturday morning from 10-noon, or by appointment.

Our Adoption Process:

Come visit the kitty you're interested in at the shelter any Saturday morning between 10am and noon. If that's not convenient, please contact us by phone or email and we'll get back to you to arrange a time. We'll ask you to complete our Adoption Application and answer any questions you have about the kitty's current and long term health issues. We require that you wait at least a day before taking your new kitty home. That gives us time to perform a final health check and a farewell grooming. We request a donation of $75, which covers all medical care the cat has received while at Witty Kitties. If for some reason the adoption does not work out, we require that the kitty be returned to Witty Kitties.

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.

What do you guys think of this place?

it's in the next town over, I stopped by a couple of weekends ago because I thought it was just a grooming parlor but then I saw a puppies for sale sign, and I thought oh boy... I went in and I asked the girl at the counter where they got their dogs and if they were all from reputable breeders and she said yes and that the owner, Carol, breeds the french bulldogs, English bulldogs, and munchkin and Napoleon cats herself (which I never heard of before) I don;t know they have "designer breeds" is this a puppy mill or BYB operation or what?
