Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

Country Cats, Inc. is located in Andover, Kansas and serves Wichita, Kansas and all surrounding towns.

About Our Shelter:

Country Cats, Inc. is a no-kill cat adoption and rescue. A state-licensed non-profit organization, we are run by dedicated volunteers and are funded by adoption fees and private donations.

Our mission:
- to prevent abandonment and abuse of cats,
- to reduce the number of unwanted cats/kittens through
spaying/neutering,
- to adopt our cats/kittens to responsible owners,
- to promote public awareness of responsible cat care, especially the need for spaying/neutering.

Our Adoption Process:

Our cats are for no charge and our kittens (up to one year old) are just $75. This includes the spay/neuter, all vaccinations and parasite treatments. We adopt to 'approved' homes only.

We require that everyone be 'pre-approved' before viewing any of the cats/kittens, which is a simple, quick process. Our shelter is a private home, and some of the cats on our website are owned by private individuals. We find that this process actually saves everyone time and money.

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.

"History
Munchkin is a naturally occurring, domestic cat breed characterized by unusually short legs. These short-legged cats have been documented in 1930s in England. But World War II took its toll on the cat and threatened the extinction of this species. These cats were rediscovered in Europe in 1980s. Breeders undertook measures to conserve this breed and since then this breed has flourished. Recently it has been accepted as breed by TICA. "
