Cities, Towns, and/or Counties We Serve:

About Our Rescue Group:

Cats In Need of Human Care is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue organization. We are an organization of volunteers who cooperate with one another and the community to find good, loving homes for homeless pets, promote spay/neuter and responsible pet ownership.

Come Meet our Pets:

We hold cat adoptions every Saturday from NOON to 4:00 p.m at the Buena Park PetSmart, located at 8331 La Palma Avenue - directly across the street from the Buena Park Mall.

Our Adoption Process:

All potential adopters will be asked to fill out an adoption application. If approved, there is also a contract to fill out and sign. The fee is $115 for cats and kittens. We also have 2 for 1 specials. The adoption fee is a donation to our non-profit organization and goes towards the general upkeep of the cats and also their medical expenses to cover the costs of spay/neuter, vaccinations, etc.

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a cat or kitten versus getting cats for sale or kittens for sale from a cat breeder? When someone is breeding kittens, they are creating new cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of cat or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a cat for sale from a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a cat or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.

I have mixed feelings on breeding pets

Volumes have been written on the topic... one of my college professors even had a seminar called "the ethics of pet keeping."
so many breeders are unscrupulous about messing up the animals' gene pool, which is why so many dogs, like golden retrievers, have hip displasia and whatnot. the munchkin cats are cute, but part of me says, "what the fuck is THAT?" these are living creatures, and it's a little creepy that people sculpt them through breeding so that we will have an increasingly cuddly race of pets to play with.
especially when there are so many animals in shelters that have no homes and are routinely euthanized
